Village of Waterman
The Village of Waterman Village President seeks qualified candidates for the position of Trustee to fill a vacancy until the April 2021 municipal election. It is anticipated that the process to seat the new Trustee will occur no later than the July 9, 2019 Board meeting. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of community volunteerism and activism. Candidates must reside in the Village for at least 1 year prior to appointment and meet the legal requirements to take the Oath of Office.
The Board of Trustees have an active, year-long meeting schedule that includes 1 Tuesday evening meeting per month and participation in meetings that include budget meetings, special meetings and public hearings as needed. Additionally, Trustees are assigned to a minimum of 2 Village committees that meet as needed.
Waterman residents interested in applying for this vacancy may do so by submitting a letter or email to the Village President. The letter/email should include a description of the applicant’s background and experience, a short history of the applicant’s community involvement, a statement explaining why the applicant is interested in serving on the Board, and knowledge, skills and abilities he or she would bring to the citizens and the Board.
